Rebuilding an insurance company's digital footprint from the ground up

The Challenge

Group1001.com ran on a legacy GatsbyJS/React setup that was becoming difficult to maintain and scale, across two brands: Delaware Life Insurance and ClearSprings.

My Approach

I directed the modernization of the legacy system into a scalable Angular and Node.js architecture, rebuilding the site's core infrastructure. Alongside the technical rebuild, I mentored other developers through code review and cross-training on the new stack, and designed CI/CD delivery patterns with stronger UAT and unit-testing practices baked in.

The Result

- Full migration from Gatsby/React to a scalable Angular/Node.js architecture
- Improved release readiness across two insurance brands
- Raised team-wide code quality through mentorship and review
